general public photographs of the City of Los Angeles and the personal stories behind them
I showed you my view of Los Angeles, now show me yours!
Labeled Los Angeles started out as a place for me to share my large photographic archives and major love for the city, but things developed very quickly and before I knew it, short essays about different locations turned into me writing a whole book about my life. Visual storytelling is something I’ve done for years, but writing was a whole new adventure for me, and I loved it. I could get lost in the drama and nuance of words, just like I would get lost in photographs. When the book was finished and I went back to working on Labeled, I realized the obvious - I’m not the only one with something to say, or a view to share. I know there are amazing stories and very cool photos out there, just waiting to be discovered.
That’s what motivated me to create Your LA Story. Maybe you have your own collection of photographs, maybe you only have one tiny, little image with a big story behind it, or maybe you inherited your grandparents' old photo albums filled with unseen gems of the city. I’m guessing, if you have something you just know is special, you’d love to share it, right? I for one definitely want to hear your LA story. I especially want to see those lost views of the ever evolving metropolis Labeled: Los Angeles.
Your LA Story has been designed to go a few steps beyond simple posts, by offering featured contributors a dedicated page to their story with a direct connection to their audience, along with a trio of products to offer. Using handwritten notes, voice recordings, and interviews conducted over the phone or in person, along with their photographs and films, contributors will have the opportunity to tell their story and have their moment to shine.
In time, I hope Labeled Los Angeles and Your LA Story become a place recognized for its wide range of storytelling, ultimately creating a unique and truly authentic view of the City of Los Angeles.

I can’t wait to hear from you!
