FLOWERS AND CAMERAS

$50.00Price

Flowers and Cameras. A block east of Vine on the Sunset Strip, Pete’s Flowers and Morgan Camera Shop were the few last holdouts of a Hollywood lost to time and progress. The building was constructed in the late 1930s, shortly after Gilbert and Willard Morgan opened Morgan Camera Shop. The Morgan brothers were real pioneers in the art of photography. Wilard Mogan was the first professional photographer to use a Leica 35m camera in America, and over the years he helped develop several Leica products. Even with those major impacts on photography, Hollywood and visual storytelling, the end for the camera shop, in the early 2000, was slow and went largely unnoticed. The main parts of the building are still there, but they are boarded up and painted over.
